A Self Project (Inspired)

About

Toy Face is a playful self-initiated project exploring the intersection of 3D design, personal identity, and pop culture using Adobe Photoshop and Blender. Inspired by the whimsical style of Amrit Pal Singh, this project allowed me to experiment with stylized character modeling and lighting while giving personality to each avatar.

Every toy face here tells a micro-story — whether it's a proud graduate, a Loki-fan, or a cucumber-eyed chill soul. This is my personal homage to the power of visual identity, seen through toy eyes.

Closing Thoughts

Toy Face is more than a visual experiment. It’s a personality study in miniature form. This project helped me practice stylization, 3D lighting, texture balance, and storytelling — all within a format that's delightfully toy-sized.

Concept & Inspiration

Heavily inspired by Amrit Pal Singh’s (@amritpaldesign). "Toy Faces" universe—minimal, stylized, and character-driven.

The Idea was to

  • Explore identity through visual metaphors.

  • Play with iconic accessories, moods, and color palettes.

  • Build stylized avatars that feel both unique and part of a cohesive toy-world.

Challenges & Learnings

  • Getting the glass and plastic shaders just right in Blender to match the toy aesthetic.

  • Achieving consistent lighting across renders while allowing each face its own mood.

  • Balancing realism and stylization in a way that feels emotionally expressive yet playful.
